Cookie Dough Puff Pastries Recipe!

Hello lovelies,

Now, I don’t know about you, but as I’ve gotten older, I feel like I’ve definitely become a pastry girlie. Wether it’s a pain au chocolat, a chocolate twist or a savoury sausage roll, pastries have most certainly become a favourite of mine.

Whilst having a nightly scroll on instagram, I came across another video which caught my eye immediately. It was a video of these cookie puff pastries made by the incredibly talented sisters Alia & Radwa, also known as ‘fooddolls’ on the gram.

It’s not secret that I love cookie dough so when they paired puff pastry together with cookie dough, you can only imagine how my taste buds were doing the macarena.

I immediately had to make and bake a batch of my own and let’s just say, these pastries certainly didn’t disappoint!

Flaky puff pastry with an ultra chocolatey cookie dough centre – what isn’t there to love? It’s sweet, it’s flavourful and it can be customised to your taste! Oh, did I mention how ridiculously quick and easy these were to make also?

So, if these pastries have caught your eye also and got you wanting more, then you know the drill. Keep on scrolling below and you’ll find the recipe.

Ingredients You Need For The Cookie Dough Puff Pastry

  • 2 Sheets Of Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
  • 350g Of Cookie Dough
  • 1 Egg, Beaten

How To Make The Cookie Dough Puff Pastries:

  • Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients, grease a 12 hole muffin tin well with butter and preheat the oven to 180C / 160C Fan / Gas Mark 4.
  • Secondly, remove both the pastries from the fridge and unroll both sheets onto a lightly floured surface.
  • On one unrolled sheet of puff pastry, crumble over 350g of cookie dough , gently pressing it down into a thin, even layer across the entire sheet.
  • Now, place the second unrolled sheet of puff pastry over the top of the cookie dough layer.
  • Using a knife or a pizza cutter, slice the layered pastry into 1inch thick strips (mine made 12 strips).
  • Roll each of the 12 strips into a shape resembling a cinnamon roll and place into each hole of the muffin tin.
  • Using a pastry brush, brush each of the rolls with the beaten egg.
  • Place into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and the pastry is cooked through.
  • Finally, once baked, remove from the oven and carefully remove from the tin and place onto a wire rack to cool down fully. Serve warm or cold.

That’s your Cookie Dough Puff Pastry prepared and baked, ready for you to enjoy!

Notes:

  • You can either buy pre-made cookie dough from your local supermarket or you can make the cookie dough from scratch yourself.
  • I personally used Jane Patisserie’s ‘NYC Chocolate Chip Cookie’ recipe. There will be some remaining cookie dough left over from the puff pastries which I chilled for one hour and made into cookies (https://www.janespatisserie.com/2020/04/25/nyc-chocolate-chip-cookies/)
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days.

I honestly can’t cope with how amazing these are! quick, easy, gooey and flaky, everything you want a pastry to be and more…

I physically cannot wait to make these pastries again and again for my loved ones! I’m obsessed and I can guarantee if you’re a pastry lover, you will be too.

The Fooddolls absolutely killed it with this recipe! Big shoutout to them.

Let me know in the comments below if you make these pastries yourself and if you do, what your thoughts are on them. Are you a pastry enthusiast? Aren’t these just sensational?

Sending you all tons of love & hugs as always,
