Chocolate Stuffed M&M Muffins Recipe!

Today I’m sharing with you one of my favourite muffin recipes I’ve made to date. These muffins are sweet sweet goodness that everyone needs in their life, asap!

Whilst having a scroll on instagram, I came across a video a talented baker called Joanna (also known as ‘partagesderecettes’ on the gram) posted and it immediately caught my eye.

It was these M&M muffins with a chocolatey centre and whilst I have made many muffins in the past, I’d never baked anything like these before. So, as you can imagine, it got my creative juices flowing and immediately got me making a batch of my own.

Which is what has lead me here today! I couldn’t make these muffins and not share the recipe with you as DAMN, they blooming amazing.

Ingredients You Need For The Muffins:

  • 12tsp Of Chocolate Spread
  • 160ml Of Sunflower Oil
  • 150ml Of Whole Milk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2tsp Of Vanilla Extract
  • 300g Of Self-Raising Flour
  • 200g Of Caster Sugar
  • 50g Of Chocolate Chips
  • 50g Of White Chocolate Chips
  • 150g Of Chocolate M&M’s

How To Make The Muffins:

  • Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients, line a 12 hole muffin tin with muffin cases and preheat the oven to 180C / 160C Fan / Gas Mark 4.
  • Secondly, on a baking tray, lined with parchment paper, add 12 small dollops of chocolate spread and place into the freezer for 30 minutes or until the chocolate spread has fully frozen.
  • Whilst the chocolate spread is freezing, make the muffins.
  • In a large bowl, using a whisk, whisk together the 160ml of sunflower oil, 150ml of whole milk, 1 large egg and 2tsp of vanilla extract until combined.
  • Next, using a spatula, carefully fold in the 300g of self-raising flour and 200g of caster sugar, until just combined.
  • Spilt the muffin mixture between the 12 muffin cases, until 3/4’s full.
  • Once the 30 minutes is up, remove the frozen chocolate spread from the freezer and place into the centre of each muffin, pushing down carefully until it’s fully covered by the muffin mixture.
  • In a bowl, mix together the 50g of white and milk chocolate chips and 150g of M&M’s. Then sprinkle a generous amount on top of each muffin.
  • Place into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the muffin comes out clean.
  • Finally, once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes in the tin before transferring onto a wire rack to cool down completely.

That’s your Chocolate Stuffed M&M Muffins frozen, prepared and baked, ready for you to enjoy!


  • You can use any kind of spread you like to go into the centre of each muffin. BUT it is important to freeze the spread before adding into the centre of the muffin.
  • The spread I used:
  • You can also add any topping and chocolate chips you prefer, the choices are endless.
  • You can swap out the sunflower oil for vegetable oil.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. I’d always recommend eating on the day of baking for the freshest muffins.

I’m sorry, but how ridiculously quick and easy are these muffins to make and bake? Perfect for those of you who want a sweet treat on the go or to enjoy with loved ones.

I’ll be straight with you, in regard to the way my muffins look, it’s nothing compared to Joanna’s BUT the taste, excelled all my expectations! Which is why they say, never judge a book by its cover, right?
