Hello lovelies,
NYX Cosmetics will always hold such a special place in my heart. It was one of the first brands I brought from when I first started getting into makeup and honestly, it’s been a stand out brand ever since.
As NYX has continued to grow as a brand, they’ve gone from strength to strength with their products and I don’t think I’ve once been disappointed by them – that’s a sign of a good brand for sure.
Last year my mum brought me both of the NYX advent calendars and I absolutely loved them. The products I got inside were amazing quality and quite honestly, I was thrilled with what was behind each door I opened.
My mum kindly brought me the new 2020 advent calendar by NYX as I was so happy with the years before and I couldn’t not write a review. I knew how gutted I was last year when I didn’t write one for you all so it was a must this year!

so before I ramble on for any longer, let’s get into this review:

My Thoughts On The Calendar Overall!
I suppose the most important question to be asked is: would I recommend this calendar to you guys? And my answer is, YES! most defiantly. if your new to makeup and your wanting to build your collection or your a NYX Cosmetics lover, then this calendar will be perfect for you.
For me, my favourite part was the single eye shadows. I’ll be honest, it’s not everyday I buy a single eyeshadow as I prefer just buying a palette instead but these ones have certainly changed my mind on that. You get 6 unbelievably pigmented eyeshadows which are stunning. Sometimes in advent calendars, you can get single eyeshadows that are all similar colours whereas with this calendar, they’re all different from one another which i really liked.
I do think they could have added some full size lipsticks into the calendar. Don’t get me wrong, the mini’s are nice but your paying a fair amount of money for a calendar, I do think it’s worth having full sized lipsticks also. That being said, the mini’s are all beautiful colours, they’ve included some of NYX’s best sellers I believe. Their pigmented, non drying and have really good longevity.
I love that you get two different coloured liquid illuminators as it means the calendar is catering for every skin tone. That goes for the translucent powder also! We love to see it.
My only other complaint is that I think there was room for a couple of other NYX products to be in the calendar. You get 4 lip products which I honestly think could have been swapped for other products. You don’t need 2 lip oils, a lip balm and a lip scrub. One of them yes, but all 4? I don’t think we’re needed.

Despite there being a couple of little things I’d change about the calendar, I really do think it’s worth the buy if you love the brand, you certainly won’t be disappointed by their quality.
If you’d like to buy it yourself, you can buy it here for £45: https://www.amazon.co.uk/NYX-Professional-Makeup-Diamonds-Selection/dp/B08F3B6PZ9
I hope you liked today’s review, my last review of an advent calendar went down so well that it was only right I do another one for you all.
Sending you all tons of love & hugs as always,
Elle xo
