5 Must Watch Series!

Hello lovelies,

Are you a series lover? do you like to snuggle up after a long day of hard work and watch your favourite series? Or maybe your snuggling up in bed doing nothing all day whilst doing so. Whatever your doing I’ve got 5 series you’ll be obsessed with, so make sure you carry on reading below…

I’m not really one that turns away from gore which I’m sure you’ll find out from these series I’m about to tell you about. I’m a lover of pretty much any genre wether that’s horror or chick flick, I’m pretty easy going.
So I’ll warn you that in advance!
So here’s are my “5 Must Watch Series”

  1. Cake Boss
  2. WentWorth
  3. Banshee
  4. Friends
  5. Walking Dead

Cake Boss

This is a series I’ve only fallen in love with this year.

So what is Cake Boss? Your wondering. The show follows the operations of Carlos Barkery which is an family owned and run buisness in Hoboken, New Jersey. Carlos Barkery is owned by Bubby Valastro (who the title “Cake Boss” applies too) his Siblings, Grace, Madalane, Lisa and Mary and his mother Mary Valastro. Throughout the series, the show focus’ on how Buddy and his amazing team of bakers and decorators make their incredible edible cakes and the interpersonal relationships among the various family members and other employees who work at the bakery.

Buddy and his team makes some of the biggest, strangest most intreging cakes I’ve ever seen. He does cakes for weddings, birthdays, christening,   Christmas or any special occasion – and when I say he doesn’t do things by halfs, I truly mean it. Buddy and his team go above and beyond. He even does cakes that MOVE! Although, they don’t just do cakes, they also make some of the most tasty looking pasteries I’ve seen.

Too say Cake Boss makes my mouth drool is an understatement! Which is why if your a baking lover like myself, I’d highly recommend this series. There are currently 9 or 10 seasons of Cake Boss, in which you watch the family and cakes grow – it’s truly amazing.

WentWorth

WentWorth started on the 1st of May 2013 and is now on series 5 which seems absolutely crazy! this is a series which is unbelievably intising, it draws you in and gets you wanting more instantly which is why it’s on my list for you all.

WentWorth is an Australian television drama series, set on a “all women’s institute” in Australia called WentWorth. This series isn’t based on true stories but is a very realistic approach on how life is within a prison. Honestly, this isn’t a series to be watching if you don’t like blood, gore and scenes of a sexual nature as this series is filled with it.

My favourite thing about this series is how they allow you to get to know what each of the women did to end up in prison individually. Sometimes in programmes, even series your left guessing the whole way through as to what the persons done whereas in WentWorth it does flashbacks allowing you to see what the women did to end them up in prison. You end up loving each of the women quickly for their characteristics and within a few episodes you have got favourites. My top 5 has to be; Bea, Frankie, Boomer, Maxine and Ex Goaver – Joan. If your a fan of the series, whose your favourites?

Banshee:

Now Banshee certainly won’t be everyone’s taste but if your a violence loving, fond of plenty of gore, don’t mind every other scene being a good old fight and scenes of sexual content then this going to be right up your alley. Banshee has 4 Seasons of goodness but has unfortunately finished for good (we do tend to watch these over again though).

Banshee is set in a small town in Pennsylvania, America. A recently paroled master thief assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff Lucas Hood, in the small town named Banshee, where he has unfinished business. His former lover and partner in crime relocated years ago whilst Hood was doing time in prison and reinvented herself as Carrie Hopewell, the wife of the towns prosecutor. Hood attempts to reunite with Carrie whilst trying to keep his past a secret, he resumes his life of crime even as he’s hunted by the nasty gangsters he betrayed years earlier. Hood throughout the series takes many beatings whilst being the Sheriff and gives many beatings, he also continues the life of crime despite being so high up in the uniform but that doesn’t stop him bringing in the money. Throughout the series Hood makes plenty of enemies, makes up with Carrie, falls in love and comits crimes.

I’d highly recommend you’d give this series a watch if your intrigued by anything I’d mentioned above as there’s so much more to it but I don’t want to ruin it for you. This is a series that should be known by everyone as honestly, it’s amazing and very endearing. Once you’ve watched one, you’ll want to watch them all in one night! It’s sexual content is very explicit, it’s more then your average series so I’d defiantly say it’s an over 16’s series.

Friends:

if you haven’t watched Friends before, you are truly missing out on plenty of laughs. Friends is an American series that started 22nd September 1994 and after 10 seasons it ended on 6th May 2004. There’s 236 episodes overall, how crazy is that? Friends is on Comedy Central daily.
Three men – Ross Geller (David Schwimmer), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc) and Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) & Three women – Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courtney Cox) and Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) are all friends, the best of friends! living off one another in the heart of New York City. Over ten years, these best friends went through the works- mayhem, family troubles, past and future romances, laughs, tears, fights, breakups and surprises as they learn what it really means to be a friend.

With 52.5 million American viewers alone Friends is one of the biggest series to ever hit our screens, it’s the fifth most watched television episode of the 2000’s decade. I won’t lie, I watch friends on the daily – whenever I get the chance, I love to change the channel and lye back watching them. Do you watch friends? Whose your favourite?  What’s your favourite scene, episode or series?

The Walking Dead:

The Walking Dead premiered in the United States on 31st October 2010, there’s currently 7 seasons and 99 episodes which we are currently waiting for the next series too debut. Like Banshee, this certainly won’t be for everyones taste – The Walking Dead is incredibly gory, violent orientated, zombified and explosive. Do you love a series filled with all this? Then you’ll love The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead is based on a comic book series written by Robert Kirkmen, this gory drama series portrays life in the weeks and months following a zombie apocalypse. A police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure place to stay and possibly call home. The pressure of each day to stay alive sends many of the group to the deepest depths of human cruelty, and Rick discovers that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be more deadly then the zombies walking among them.

These are the most lifelike (despite not actually knowing what Zombies actually look like and hopefully never will, they make them look unbelievably lifelike) zombies which is one of the many reasons as to why I think everyone has taken too The Walking Dead. Each intividual persons background story is told throughout the story through flashbacks before the apocalypse which I find incredibly interesting. I personally love getting to know each character in this type of way. My ALL time favourites in The Walking Dead have to be; Glenn, Daryl and Carol. Three of the most fierce, not to mess with yet down to earth people, although Daryl will possibly eat you if you do “piss him off”, just saying…

And that’s my “5 Must Watch Series!” If ever your in need of a new series to watch, these are the ones to get yourself addicted too as believe me, there amazing.

These obviously aren’t the only 5 series I’m loving at the moment but like I say these are my top 5. I do also love;

  •  Love Island,
  • Big Brother,
  • Geordie Shore,
  • Ex On The Beach,
  • British Bake Off,
  • Mary Berry’s Life

And a few others.

What are your favourite series? Comment below or let me know on my social media accounts which are tagged on my blog as I’d love to know. Myself & my mum are always willing to watch new series – sometimes my dad’s into them too.

I really hope you liked today’s blogpost, I thoroughly enjoyed writing this so I hope you were fond of reading it!

Sending you tons of love and hugs as always,

Elle xo

I love cake boss! I must say though I kind of gave up a bit on the walking dead on the latest season. I’m hoping I can catch up again before the next one starts in the autumn. I need to get into the right mood for it I think.

Love The Walking Dead and Big Brother. My family picks players from first episode and competes to see who player gets the farthest.
