It’s hard to believe that 6 years ago, we was all baking batch after batch of banana bread whilst in lockdown!
The rise in the love for banana bread definitely grew from that time in our lives and still 6 years on, the hype around it remains.
And I can see why – banana bread is definitely up in my top 3 bakes that I one) enjoy eating and two) throughly enjoy baking.
Whilst the banana bread I’m sharing with you today is nothing revolutionary, many bakers around the world have done it already but I wanted to share with you my recipe which has the addition of nutella.
I can hear you all saying ‘hmmm’ and hear your stomach rumbling and they blooming well should be as the addition of nutella to my perfected banana bread, takes it from a 10/10 to a 100/10! It’s that good.
It’s a simple yet unbelievably yummy recipe which you guys can easily recreate from the comfort of your own home and are guaranteed to be head over heels in love with it after one small bite!

Ingredients You Need:
- 4 Ripe Bananas, Mashed
- 125g Of Unsalted Butter
- 150g Of Light Brown Sugar
- 250g Of Self-Raising Flour
- 1tsp Of Baking Powder
- 3 Large Eggs
- 75g Of Plain Yogurt
- 2tsp Of Vanilla Bean Paste / Extract
- 200g Of Milk Chocolate Chips
- 250g Of Nutella
How To Make The Nutella Banana Bread:
- Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients, line a 2lb loaf tin with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180C / 160C Fan / Gas Mark 4.
- Secondly, mash up the bananas until soft and mushy.
- Next, in a large bowl, beat together the 125g of unsalted butter with the 150g of light brown sugar until smooth.
- Now, add in the mashed bananas, 3 large eggs, 75g of plain yogurt and 2tsp of vanilla bean paste and beat again until combined.
- Add in the 250g of self-raising flour and 1tsp of baking powder and beat again until combined.
- Fold in the 200g of milk chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the loaf batter.
- Pour 2/3rds of the loaf batter into the base of the prepared-lined baking tin.
- Top the batter with 200g of the loosened nutella spread and spread it out evenly.
- Add the remaining loaf batter on top of the nutella spread.
- Add the remaining 50g of loosened nutella spread on top of the loaf batted and using a knife, swirl the nutella through.
- Sprinkle over the remaining 20g of milk chocolate chips.
- Place the tin into the oven and bake for 60-70 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.
- Finally, once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the tin before removing and serving.
That’s your Nutella Banana Bread prepared, baked and cooled, ready for you to enjoy!

- Store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or in an airtight container at room temperature for 3 days.

I don’t think the pictures do this banana bread justice so you’ll have to take it from me, this is hands down the yummiest banana bread!
Nutella was always going to pair with banana beautifully but even I’m floored with just how good this bake is. Not to toot my own horn or anything *wink wink*
