Category: Sweet Treat
Servings: 14 Donuts
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Bake Time: 12-14 Minutes
Decorating Time: 20 Minutes
Chill Time: 1 Hour
Overall Time: 1Hour 40Minutes
Ingredients You Need For The Cookienuts:
- 125g Of Unsalted Butter
- 100g Of Light Brown Sugar
- 75g Of White Granulated Sugar
- 1 Medium Egg
- 2tsp Of Vanilla Bean Paste / Extract
- 300g Of Plain Flour
- 1.5tsp Of Baking Powder
- 1/2tsp Of Bicarbonate Of Soda
- 200g Of Dark Chocolate Chips
- 200g Of Milk Chocolate Chips
Ingredients You Need To Decorate:
- 150g Of Milk Chocolate, Melted
- 150g Of White Chocolate, Melted
How To Make The Cookienuts:
- Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients, grease a 12 hole donut tin well with butter and preheat the oven to 200C / 180C Fan / Gas Mark 5.
- Secondly, in a large bowl, using a stand or handheld mixer, beat together the 125g of unsalted butter with the 100g of light brown sugar and 75g of granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Next, mix in 1 medium egg and the 2tsp of vanilla extract until combined.
- Add in the 300g of plain flour, 1.5tsp of baking powder and 1/2tsp of bicarbonate of soda and beat again until a cookie dough forms.
- Add in the 150g of dark and milk chocolate chips and mix until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
- Split the dough evenly into 12 balls and press the dough into the donut mould (TIP: get a scoop of cookie dough and roll it into a sausage, then press into the mould).
- Place the donut tin into the oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, until golden brown.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for 15 minutes before carefully removing the donuts and transferring onto a wire rack to cool completely.
How To Decorate:
- Now that the Cookienuts have cooled, it’s time to decorate.
- Melt the 150g of milk chocolate and 150g of white chocolate into separate bowls.
- Dunk half the donuts into the milk chocolate and the other half of the donuts into the white chocolate. Once dunked, place onto a wire rack.
- Place the remaining milk and white melted chocolates into separate piping bags, cut the very tip of the piping bag off and pipe alternative chocolates into lines on the dunked donuts.
- Using a skewer or knife, feather the chocolate on each donut (TIP: drag the skewer or knife in the alternative direction to which the chocolate lines are piped).
- Finally, place the decorated cookienuts into the fridge for one hour to set fully before serving.
That’s your Cookienuts prepared, baked, decorated and set, ready for you to enjoy!

I’m totally and utterly obsessed! There’s no other words than… Sensational.
These cookienuts certainly lived up to my expectations! I mean why wouldn’t they? One) they’re created by JANE and everything she creates is fire and two) they’re made from cookie dough, my all time favourite sweet treat. It was always going to be a win.
Let me know in the comments below if you make these yourself and if you do, what your thoughts are on them. Have you ever tried a cookienut? Did you enjoy these ones?
Sending you all tons of love & hugs as always,
Elle xo
