Chocolate Dirt Cups Recipe | Halloween Bakes 2024!

Hello lovelies,

Happy October, I can’t believe we’re 10 months into the year already, where is time going?

Anyway, it’s October and that means one thing and one thing only, it’s spooky season baby! So, it’s only right to kick start the spookiest time of year with a Halloween bake and damn, are you in for a treat with this one.

Whilst looking for inspiration on Pinterest recently, I’d seen a lot of ‘dirt cups’ recipes which caught my attention immediately. Not only because they look incredibly cool but for its simplicity too.

I know not everyone has time to go crazy on in-depth Halloween bakes, so I wanted to create my own quick & easy ‘dirt cup’ recipe that takes no longer than 20 minutes to make and not only does the finish product look amazing but it tastes absolutely blooming delicious too.

So, if my ‘dirt cup’ has caught your attention and got you wanting to know more, you know the drill. Keep on scrolling below and you’ll find todays recipe.

Category: Desert / Sweet Treat

Servings: 1

Overall Time: 20 Minutes

Ingredients You Need For The Dirt Cups:

  • 1x 59g Packet Of Chocolate Angel Delight Instant Desert Mix
  • 300ml Of Whole Milk
  • 3 Oreo Biscuits, White Centre Removed
  • Small Jelly Snakes
  • Edible Candy Eyeballs Sprinkles
  • Edible Candy Bloody Bone Sprinkles

How To Make The Dirt Cups:

  • Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients.
  • Secondly, in a large mixing bowl, using a whisk, whisk together the 300ml of milk with the 1x 59g packet of angel delight until thickened.
  • Once thickened, pour the chocolate angel delight into your prepared cups, until mostly full (leave a little room at the top). Then set to one side.
  • Next, in a ziplock bag, add the three oreo biscuits (with the whites removed) and using a rolling pin, bash the biscuits into crumbs.
  • When you’re happy with the crumb consistency, sprinkle the crumb across the top of the angel delight until the top is completely covered.
  • Now, add the jelly snakes, the edible eyeballs and edible bloody bones to create a spooky scene.
  • Finally, once you’re happy with your decorations, place the angel delight in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to allow it time to set. Then, serve.

That’s your Chocolate Dirt Cups prepared and chilled, ready for you to enjoy!

Notes:

You honestly can’t go wrong with todays bake, it’s one of those recipes that you can adapt and make your own whilst it still looks incredibly spooky.

This is also one of those bakes which is loved by all ages. Not only will the kiddies go mad for these, but the adults too (it’s been trialled and tested *wink wink*).

If you remove all the Halloweeny bits from the top of today’s cup, this can also just be a delicious desert to enjoy all year around. I love me some angel delight and paired with Oreo biscuits… yummy!

Let me know in the comments below if you make this ‘dirt cup’ yourself and if you do, what your thoughts are on it. Are you going to recreate this, this Halloween?

Sending you all tons of love & hugs as always,

Elle xo
