Hello lovelies,
Now, if there’s one thing you should know about Britain, it’s that we love our tea and biscuits / cookies. We are a nation of dunkers and even on the hottest day, you can guarantee we’ll be sitting complaining of the weather with a hot cuppa Rosie-Lee and a packet of biscuits / cookies to hand. It’s a British thing, what can I say…
Ive made my fair share of biscuits and cookies over the years but it hit me the other day, that I’ve never actually made a cookie which is specifically made to dunk. Am I okay?
You may be wondering what the difference is between a normal cookie and a cookie dunker. Well, from my experience, a cookie is more likely to break and fall into your cuppa tea whereas, a cookie dunker is more sturdy and in turn, makes it easier to dunk and not break off.
If you are one of the people sick of dunking a cookie, it breaking off and ruining your tea (as let’s be real here guys, there’s nothing more frustrating than a cookie breaking off into your tea), then look no further, your gal has got you well and truly covered!
So, if cookie dunkers is what you need in your life, then you know the drill. Keep on scrolling below and you’ll find the recipe.

Chilling Time: 1 Hour
Overall Time: 1.5 Hours
Ingredients You Need:
- 120g Of Salted Butter
- 100g Of Caster Sugar
- 150g Of Light Brown Sugar
- 1 Medium Egg
- 1tsp Of Vanilla Bean Paste / Extract
- 160g Of Plain Flour
- 1/2tsp Of Baking Powder
- 100g Of Milk Chocolate Chips
- 100g Of Dark Chocolate Chips
- 100g Of White Chocolate Chips
How To Make The Cookie Dunkers:
- Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients and line a 9” loose bottomed, square baking tin with parchment paper.
- Secondly, in a microwavable bowl, add 120g of salted butter, place into the microwave and in 20 second blasts, blast the butter until it’s fully melted.
- Once melted, add the 100g of caster sugar and 150g of light brown sugar into a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted butter over the sugars and stir into a smooth paste.
- Next, add the 1 medium egg and 1tsp of vanilla extract and stir to combine.
- Now, add the 160g of plain flour and 1/2tsp of baking powder and beat into the batter until you have a smooth, loose dough.
- Fold through the 300g of chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Using a spatula, compact the cookie dough into the pre-lined baking tin, smoothing it into the corners to create an even layer.
- Place the cookie dough into the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
- When it’s coming to the end of the 30 minutes, preheat the oven to 200C / 180C Fan / Gas Mark 6.
- After 30 minutes, remove the cookie dough from the fridge and place into the oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden and baked through.
- Remove from the oven once baked and tap it gently on your work surface to flatten the cookie and then allow to cool completely in the tray.
- Once cooled, place the tin into the fridge for 1-2 hours to chill.
- Finally, once chilled, carefully remove from the cookie from the tray and cut into 15 equal sized fingers.
That’s your Triple Chocolate Cookie Dunkers prepared, baked, chilled and cut, ready for you to enjoy!
