Being makeup obsessed doesn’t come cheaply but when I saw Kylie Jenner was coming out with her own makeup line at such an amazing price I just couldn’t say no!
Lipsticks has always been a favourite of mine, your personality can shine through the colour of your lipstick and the fact Kylie Jenner, whose a huge inspiration to so many, came out with liquid lipsticks I knew I wanted to get my hands on some.
Kylie has a range of different shades varying from, the stunning nudes to the vibrant blues, the matttest mattes to the sparkling metallics, there’s a colour & formula for everyone!
Kylie may only 19 but her passion for makeup has powered the world, her brand has gone from a dream to reality from the moment she said go.
Although, her lipsticks aren’t easy to buy. You have to be raring to go at least an hour before they go live so your in with a chance of getting one due to them selling out within 5-10 minutes. She’s even broke the makeup record by selling out completely in 1 minute 30 seconds, crazy right?
There are thousands of reviews online about Kylie’s lipsticks, all very different so I thought I’d give me personal view on them for you today as I’ve been asked a few times about them.
Firstly, just before I start, I wanted to say that; Kylie Cosmetics℠ products are not tested on animals, and all shades of The Kylie Lip Kit℠ (excluding Candy K) are vegan.
Now let’s get on with my review.
Personally, I love them! I’m absolutely obsessed with how long lasting they are. as a lipstick hoarder I have a wide range of lipsticks from all different brands and not many last the duration of the day without being reapplied (which is completely normal and I don’t mind doing that at all) but on the website it says they should last up to 10 hours and from my own experience these lipsticks definitely hold up to that claim as they don’t budge throughout the day yet stay comfortable on the lips for the duration and that’s an incredible achievement in itself.
I suffer with incredibly dry lips, I’m always applying lip balm or gloss to moisturise them and I was a little worried that the mattes would be to much for my already dry lips. I’ll admit, Kylie’s are a little drying on me but nothing too uncomfortable. Put it this way, it hasn’t stopped me buying and wanting more lipsticks!
The Metal Lipsticks provide a very bold, long lasting look which doesn’t dry you out. This isn’t a matte finish – this is a cream finish. it’s a creamy, moisturising formula which is extremely comfortable with a gorgeous shimmering metallic finish. I’m not going to lie, these are my all time favourite lipsticks Kylie’s made. Each are so unique, so different from one another and can pull any makeup look together! They are very bold and outstanding but if you suffer with dry lips like myself, they are perfect.
Now Glosses, another amazing lipstick (this sounds so repetitive but I love them all haha). These are ultra pigmented for a gloss which is very unusual as I find with some glosses I have to apply layer after layer to get the colour I want whereas these ones after one coat are popping on my lips. They glide on the lips so smoothly and they contain Vitamin E which provides hydration and moister for the lips making them so comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They aren’t sticky like some glosses and they apply so evenly across the lips. With some glosses I find they come off rather quickly and I’m continuously reapplying but with these ones they stay on for a long duration of time which I love and makes them so worthwhile.
There formula is lovely, smoothing and applies amazingly when you first put it on then drys down very quickly. the scent of the lipsticks is amazing, not that you buy a lipstick for its scent but it’s defiantly an added bonus.
The pigmentation… Well this is what blew me away! One coat is all you need for a bold, opaque look. This goes for each range of lipsticks she’s brought out.
Overall Kylie has brought out:
- 15 Lip Kits which include a matte liquid lipstick and lip liner which are $29
- 7 Single matte liquid lipsticks which are $17
- 7 Single lip liners which are $14
- 5 metallic liquid lipsticks which are $18
- Kyshadow which includes 9 pigmented eye shadows which is $42
- Birthday Cosmetics which were very limited edition for 19th Kylie’s Birthday
And rumour has it a lot more are coming out in the next few months. So exciting!
I myself have got-
Mattes:
- Koko K – a pale pink.
- Mary Jo K – a true blue red
Gloss:
- Posie K – a mid-berry pink
Metals:
- Reign – a deep metallic copper

Before I end today’s post, I do want to warn those who want to buy them from the UK that shipping costs $14.95 on top of what you’ve paid for the lipsticks which isn’t too bad as its coming from America but customs are currently stopping any packages which enter the UK due to us leaving the EU and is costing an additional £13.99 in custom charges. This has happened to me twice, gutting I know but once you’ve paid customs you are allowed your goodies, just a shame it costs so much. As a makeup obsessed junkie I’d still happily say they are worth every penny!
I really hope today’s blog post has helped you out and given you a little insight to how amazing these products are.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for everything.
Hope your all well as can be.
Tons of love,
Elle xo
Great post, Shame about the massive costs! I love KUWTK! I am not really a make up gal though. x Steph Whytehappenednext.wordpress.com
