5 Quick & Easy Christmas Cookie Recipes | Christmas Bakes 2022!

Hello lovelies,

If you’ve been around here for a while, you’ll know that the last couple of Christmases, Ive uploaded a ‘Festive Cookie Box’ post here on my blog which contains 5 incredibly tasty Christmas themed cookies.

For some unknown reason (well I say unknown, I’ve obviously just forgot my reason haha. I blame the meds I’m taking), I didn’t upload this post last year and I feel like I broke tradition. And, if you know me, you’ll know I love myself a tradition. So, i felt it was my duty to bring that post back again this year.

We all know by now how much I love myself a cookie recipe and i think we can all agree that you cannot beat a freshly made batch of cookies at Christmas!

It has taken me a hot minute to come up with new Christmas cookie recipes being that I have shared so many over the years BUT, do not fear… I have 5 brand new, utterly delicious cookie recipes to share with you today.

Are you excited? because I sure am!

Anyway, I won’t keep you waiting, I know your here for the cookie recipes, not to hear me rambling. If any or all of these cookies have taken your fancy, get your apron on and let’s get baking.

{ Alexa play my ‘Christmas Songs’ album and turn up to a obnoxiously loud volume – this is a absolute must when baking cookies! I feel like the sound of a animal being strangled and the horrific seat dancing just adds to the flavour of the cookies, you know?}

Chocolate Orange Viennese Whirls Recipe:

Ingredients You Need For Cookies:

  • 250g Of Unsalted Butter, Softened
  • 55g Of Icing Sugar
  • 225g Of Plain Flour
  • 75g Of Corn Flour
  • 2tsp Of Orange Extract
  • 100g Of Dark Chocolate

How To Make Cookies:

  • Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients, line two baking trays with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 190C / 170C Fan / Gas Mark 4.
  • Secondly, in a large bowl, add the softened 250g of butter, 55g of icing sugar, 1tsp of orange extract, 225g of plain flour and 75g of cornflour.
  • Using an electric mixer, beat the ingredients to a paste like consistency. You don’t want to add too much air.
  • Now, spoon the paste into a piping bag which has been fitted with a star shaped nozzle.
  • Pipe the biscuits onto the lined baking trays and make sure they are spaced apart because these biscuits do expand (TIP: I pipe my biscuits into a spiral shape. I start from the top and make my way downwards).
  • When you’ve piped all your biscuits out, place the baking trays into the oven for around 15 minutes until light golden brown.
  • Once baked, take out the oven and allow to cool and harden on the baking tray for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool down completely.
  • When the cookies have cooled right down it’s time to decorate.
  • In a medium sized microwaveable bowl, add 100g of dark chocolate. Place into the microwave and in 30 second blasts, blast the chocolate until completely melted (TIP: if the consistency of your chocolate is quite thick once melted, add a dash of vegetable oil to loosen. With that being said, you don’t want the chocolate too runny).
  • Add in 1tsp of orange extract into the melted chocolate and mix together.
  • Dunk half the biscuit into the melted chocolate, making sure that half is fully coated (TIP: be ultra careful whilst doing this as the biscuit is very delicate and will break easily).
  • Finally, place the dunked biscuits onto a wire rack and allow the chocolate to set.

  • 100g Of Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1tsp Of Vanilla Extract
  • 100g Of Almond Flour
  • 2tsp Of Ground All-Spice
  • 100g Of Royal Icing Sugar
  • Water
  • 2tsp Of Lemon Extract
  • White, Green & Red Edible Balls

How To Make Cookies:

  • Firstly, gather together your equipment and ingredients and line two baking trays with parchment paper.
  • Secondly, in a large mixing bowl, using an electric whisk, on a medium speed, beat together the 170g of butter and 100g of light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Next, reducing the speed on the electric whisk to low and beat in the 1 large egg and 1tsp of vanilla extract until incorporated.
  • Now, with a spatula, fold in the 100g of almond flour and 2tsp of ground all spice.
  • Using your hands, knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms (the dough may be slightly sticky, don’t worry as that’s normal).
  • Cover the dough in clingfilm and place into the fridge to chill for 30 minutes.
  • As the 30 minutes is coming to an end, preheat your oven to 200C / 180C Fan / Gas Mark 6.
  • Once chilled, take the dough out the fridge and place between two sheets of parchment paper.
  • Roll the dough between the two pieces of parchment paper to a 1inch thickness.
  • Take the top sheet of parchment paper off and using a Christmas tree cutter, cut out as many trees as you possibly can and place onto the lined baking trays (Make sure you re-roll any left over dough until it’s all used up).
  • Place the baking trays into the oven for around 10 minutes, until the edges are browned.
  • Once baked, remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes of the baking trays before transferring over to a wire rack to cool down completely.
  • When the cookies have cooled, it’s time to decorate.
  • In a small bowl, place the 100g of royal icing sugar, a small splash of water and 2tsp of lemon extract. Using a teaspoon, mix the two together until a thickish icing forms (TIP: if it’s too runny, add a little more royal icing to thicken. If too thick, add a splash of water to loosen).
  • When you reach your desired consistency, place the icing into a small piping bag, snip off the very tip of the bag and pipe the icing onto the trees however you want. I iced mine like in lines from one corner to another (like tinsel).
  • Finally, add some red, white and green balls to finish off the trees!
