2 Quick & Easy Chocolate Pancake Recipes | Pancake Day 2023!

Hello lovelies,

Ladies when going through that time of the month, I know you’ll understand what I mean when I say that you get the urge to ram every single bit of chocolate within the house down your throat into your stomach, right?

Well, let’s just say I have had those cravings recently! Even though I’m not actually on my monthly, for some reason I am still having those period chocolate cravings. I am quite frankly in that headspace that I would happily eat Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory out of business. Yes, the cravings are that bad! No, I am not pregnant haha.

So, seen as pancake day is fast approaching, I thought I’d feed my chocolate cravings by making two different types of chocolate pancakes. Both of which are ridiculously ‘quick & easy’ to achieve.

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know that back last year, around this time, I uploaded a ‘healthy chocolate pancake recipe’ which went down an absolute treat with you guys. Well, todays pancakes aren’t quite in the ‘healthy’ category. Instead, I decided this year to go on the opposite side of the scales and share these ultra indulgent, mouth-wateringly good, chocolate pancakes.

These pancakes are for those of you who are needing that chocolate satisfaction! For those of you who are severely craving something sweet and wanting to rip someone’s head off in order to get it – I’ve got you covered, don’t you worry!

Before I ramble on any longer about these two chocolate pancakes recipes (as I’m making my mouth salivate just writing this), let’s get into making them.

Category: Sweet Treat / Breakfast / Brunch

Serves: 8-10 Pancakes Per Batch

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 1-2 Minutes Each Side

Overall Time: Half Hour Per Pancake Stack

Ingredients For Oreo Pancakes:

  • 250g Of Plain Flour
  • 2tsp Of Baking Powder
  • 2tbsp Of Caster Sugar
  • 300ml Of Whole Or Semi-Skimmed Milk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2tsp Of Vanilla Extract
  • Large Packet Of Oreo Biscuits
  • 300ml Of Crème Fraiche

Ingredients For Chocolate Chip Pancakes:

  • 250g Of Plain Floir
  • 2tsp Of Baking Powder
  • 30g Of Cocoa Powder
  • 2tbsp Of Caster Sugar
  • 300ml Of Whole Or Semi-Skimmed Milk
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 2tsp Of Vanilla Extract
  • 70g Of Chocolate Chips
  • Tbsp Of Crème Fraiche
  • Punnet Of Fresh Raspberries & Blueberries

How To Make Oreo Pancakes:

  • Firstly gather together your equipment and ingredients.
  • Secondly, in a blender or food processor, add 250g of plain flour, 2tsp of baking powder, 2tbsp of caster sugar, 300ml of milk, 1 large egg, 2tsp of vanilla extract and 12 oreo biscuits and blend ingredients together until smooth.
  • Coat your frying pan with some low cal cooking spray and place the pan over a medium heat.
  • When your frying pan is hot, pour a small amount of pancake batter into the pan and allow the pancake to cook for 1-2 minutes (until bubbles appear on the top and the pancake doesn’t look wet), then carefully flip over and cook again for 1-2 minutes.
  • Once cooked, place the pancakes onto a plate until the entire pancake batter has been used up. If during this time, the pancakes begin to go cold, either place them back into the frying pan over a low heat or into the microwave for a few seconds to warm them back up.
  • Finally, add your favourite toppings. I added a dollop of crème fraiche and crumbled two oreo biscuits over the top of the pancake.

That’s your Oreo Pancakes prepared, baked, flipped and ready for you to enjoy!

How To Make Chocolate Chip Pancakes:

  • Firstly gather together your equipment and ingredients.
  • Secondly, in a blender or food processor, add 250g of plain flour, 2tsp of baking powder, 2tbsp of caster sugar, 30g of cocoa powder, 300ml of milk, 1 large egg and 2tsp of vanilla extract and blend ingredients together until smooth.

That’s your Chocolate Chip Pancakes prepared, baked, flipped and ready for you to enjoy!

Nothing quite hits the spot like a chocolate pancake!

These two recipes I’ve shared with you today have been an absolute HIT with my family, neither of the two stacks of pancakes lasted long. Actually, I don’t think they even lasted 48 hours.

I shared a ‘quick & easy bakes’ for both halloween and christmas of 2022 so it only seems right to carry that on into 2023! Those are two of my most viewed posts ever here on my blog so I hope this pancake one has lived up to expectation. I mean, you couldn’t get two easier pancake recipes, could you?

I had to finish my pancake day bakes for 2023 with two pancakes which are perfect for a last minute throw together. I hope you all throughly enjoy indulging in all the pancakes you can possibly eat this Shrove Tuesday!

Let me know in the comments below if you make either or both of these pancake recipes yourself and if you do, what your thoughts are on them. Are you a chocolate pancake lover?

Sending you all tons of love & hugs as always,

Elle xo
